Job Description:

Responsible for identifying payer sources for uninsured and underinsured patients, and for identifying patient financial responsibility for services and collecting co-pays, deductibles and deposits prior to scheduled services. This position serves as liaison between the patient, the physician, the hospital and payers.

Minimum Education

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, sociology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum Work Experience

      • Ability to review patients billing information in-person or on the phone verbally and in writing: explain financial assistance program and help with insurance enrollment when applicable. - - - -
      • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policy and regulation of heathcare programs. - - - -
      • Demonstrated moderate knowledge of medical terminology. - - - -
      • Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills. - - - -
      • Math skills: required to calculate income, balances & deposits. - - - -
      • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required to deal with patients from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. - - - -
