Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Electrical Assembly,
plays a key role in ensuring the efficient and high-quality
production of passenger railcar components. This role will
collaborate with cross-functional teams, implementing engineering
solutions, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement
initiatives.
Functional Description
1. Process Optimization:
--- Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes related to
electrical assembly to improve efficiency, quality, and
cost-effectiveness.
--- Identify opportunities for automation and implement innovative
solutions to enhance production capabilities.
2. Fixture and Tooling Design:
--- Design and develop fixtures and tooling for railcar electrical
assembly processes to enhance precision, repeatability, and
efficiency.
--- Collaborate with the design and production teams to create
custom fixtures that optimize the electrical assembly
processes.
--- Evaluate and select appropriate materials for fixtures and
tooling, considering durability and performance requirements.
3. Quality Assurance:
--- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure
adherence to industry standards and specifications.
--- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address and resolve
any manufacturing-related issues affecting product quality.
4. Design Manufacturability Assessment:
--- Collaborate with the design team to assess the
manufacturability of electrical components, providing valuable
input during the design phase to optimize for efficient
production.
--- Conduct thorough reviews of design specifications, identifying
potential challenges, and proposing engineering solutions to
enhance manufacturability.
--- Work closely with design engineers to streamline processes,
reduce production costs, and improve overall manufacturing
efficiency.
5. Design Incidence Management:
--- Act as a key point of contact for any design-related incidences
or discrepancies that may arise during the manufacturing
process.
--- Investigate and analyze design issues, working in conjunction
with the design and production teams to implement timely and
effective resolutions.
--- Develop and maintain documentation detailing incident
resolutions and lessons learned to inform future design
improvements.
--- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure
seamless integration of engineering solutions.
6. Continuous Improvement:
--- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by implementing Lean
Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma principles.
--- Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans
for manufacturing issues.
7. Safety Compliance:
--- Ensure all manufacturing processes and procedures comply with
safety regulations and industry standards.
--- Implement safety measures and promote a culture of safety
within the manufacturing facility.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in, Electrical Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related
field.
Proven experience in electrical manufacturing engineering, with a
focus on electrical and cabling installations in the rail
industry.
Proven experience in fixture and tooling design
Strong knowledge of materials, fabrication techniques, and
manufacturing processes specific to passenger railcar electrical
assemblies.
Familiarity with electrical process documentation (schematics,
diagrams, connection lists, etc.
Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools
(CATIA, AutoCAD, Solidworks).
Familiarity with quality control methodologies and continuous
improvement techniques.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and
PowerPoint)
Verbal and written communications in Spanish is highly desired

Safety Requirements Shall report all injuries/illnesses to their
supervisor that occur at work, the day of the incident
Shall report any unsafe conditions that are identified in their
respective work area to their supervisor
Shall comply with all client safety policies, procedures, and
requirements that are communicated to them, including Job Safety
Analysis (JSA) procedures
Shall wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that is
communicated and supplied to them
Shall keep their respective work area clean and orderly at all
times
Shall attend all client required training as soon as possible
before the start of their assigned work
Shall NOT operate any client equipment (forklifts, cranes, scissor
lifts) until certified to do so

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of
factors that are considered in making compensation decisions
including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training;
licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational
needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the
applicable geographic differential associated with the location at
which the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the
current range is $75,000 to $85,000.
